What? The Last Metal Kimono?

As usual, naming my artwork has always been a struggle. In the past I asked for the help of friends and family to name one of my kimonos. This time I felt like I needed to name the last one by myself. In my search to find the perfect name, I questioned in meditation for help.

This Peace/Earth Kimono is number #25 in the Series. I thought I would take that number 25 (2+5=7).

Why is 7 a special number?

“Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God's creation of all things. ... The number 7 is also important in Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. The word 'created' is used 7 times describing God's creative work (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 three times; 2:3; 2:4).” https://www.facebook.com/AwosadeSangoyemesi/posts/262934025844552

‘Seven is a blessed angel number, and usually, it brings happiness.’

“In angel numerology, for just a few numbers we can say that it truly perfect. Number seven is one of those figures. It symbolizes every positive and valuable matter in existence like prosper life, happiness, renewal, and perfection.

Some numerologists even believe that number seven is so perfect and powerful that it represents a connection to the universe. A door that enters a realm beyond our reach that has all the answers to the known and unknown world. In that world, we can receive answers to the questions that bother us all.

There is virtually no single culture from the history of the world, in which the number seven doesn’t play a cosmic role, nor there is a religion in which the number seven is not positive. When you look at ancient scripts, Egyptian hieroglyphics or religious files, you will notice that number 7 that appears more than any other number, and almost in every case, it represents a good sign. “ https://angelnumbersmeaning.com/angel-number-7-meaning-and-symbolism/

On December 13th, 2021 I turned 77 years. This to me is another sign that the 22 years of working in metal, primarily the woven metal Kimono Series this needed to be the last one.

I am a seeker always curious about understand life and the meaning of life. Maybe that is why I became a Reiki Master, ordained minister, and studied many healing modalities. https://www.catherinefosterart.com/about

“The angel number 77 symbolizes spirituality, wisdom, inner self, inner life, independence. Seeing 77 means an auspicious time to learn and succeed in cultivation and self-control. It implies that, with sufficient will and strength, the goal can be realized and obstacles overcome.”

My practice for years has been to combine my creativity in art with healing energy. With all the artwork I create, I pray, chant positive sounds, while let the love from my heart go through my hands into the art.

I will miss creating the metal Kimonos. Today feels a little sad to me, but I am filled with hope. That said, I am also excited to explore new ways of creating art. My heart has been telling me to go back to painting for a long time.

What I do with the practice of putting loving energy into my creations will continue with abstract and portrait painting.

Why Abstract? I have double vision and it is the way that life presents itself through my eyes. Stay tuned to my blogs where I will talk about my life experience of double vision.

The name of Peace/Earth Kimono #25:
